Posting A Comment: Growing Up With G.I. Joe's tells the story of the beginning of this army surplus store by my dad and its growth into a major sporting goods chain. I also tell of my childhood and teen years in the 1940's through the 1960's in Portland. I share what it was like to live near the Columbia River, before dams were in place to prevent flooding, and I look at how G.I. Joe's helped folks in Oregon and Washington enjoy the great outdoors.
